Firestorm LVII Results

Firestorm once again had a STACKED card this week, and with only one match cancellation, the FBE Faithful were treated to FIVE incredible matchups! The dream match opener of Cassidy/Hemmingway, the suspenseful Jr Title #1 Contender's Match, Cosa Nostra and The Order of The Black Swan's spectacle of a tag team match, Inferno and Receiver's hyped up rematch that delivered on all criteria, and the fantastic Main Event of World Champion vs Jr Champion! But now, let's go back over those matches with some results!Thaddeus Hemmingway vs Conor CassidyThis highly anticipated dream match got underway to the crowd's delight, but as soon as this match started, Thaddeus wiped out Cassidy. with a massive Discus Lariat, turning him inside out! Conor was dazed, and Hemmingway set up for a brutal Spear, crushing Conor's ribs and drilling him into the centre of the Earth! The Intercontinental Champ covered his opponent, the crowd in disbelief as Hemmingway stood victorious, an incredibly decisive triumph just the latest win on Thaddeus' impressive record.Thaddeus Hemmingway (13) def. Conor Cassidy (1)Jason Beggs vs Brendan Burke Butler IIIUnfortunately, this match never got to start, as Jason Beggs was nowhere to be found. Not the greatest result for a return match but hey.Brendan Burke Butler III def. Jason Beggs (No-show) via defaultFinn Thomas vs Lukas ParagonOur next match saw Finn Thomas take on fellow Jr Lukas Paragon in the second #1 Contender's bout for the Jr Title heading into Final Stand. Last week, Ben Wyatt defeated Finn via default, meaning Wyatt just needs to beat Lukas Paragon at Firestorm 58, but this week was Finn's chance to redeem himself. Lukas, on the other hand, needed this win so when he faces Wyatt next episode, his victory could lead to a 1 on 1 Jr Title Match versus Jaeger Karpov at Final Stand! And Paragon did exactly that, putting away Finn, meaning that whoever wins next week between Lukas and Ben will be the official #1 Contender to Karpov's Junior Heavyweight Championship!Lukas Paragon (12) def. Finn Thomas (3)Nate Matthews & James Scott vs Capital STEEZ & Ben WyattAfter Travis Crowley had to pull out of this match, FBE Commissioner Nate Matthews kindly stepped in, teaming up with longstanding rival James Scott to take down Capital STEEZ and Ben Wyatt of Cosa Nostra. Interestingly, this was the first time Steez and Matthews had shared a ring since New Beginning II, when Steez attacked Matthews post-Main Event and sent a message to the then World Champ and the entire locker room, and Nate hadn't gotten his revenge since. They had had brief interactions while Nate feuded with REVOLT, yet they never got to face off inside the squared circle. Scott and Wyatt had also had their own history, sharing a ring together twice before in a Single's Match and Triple Threat, their record against one another standing at 2 - 0, but both James and Nate got retribution, the hybrid duo managing to take down the powerful Cosa Nostra in a great tag team match! The Order of The Black Swan (10) def. Cosa Nostra (5)Inferno vs Receiver of DeceptionWay back in BTE Season, Inferno and Receiver faced off for the first time ever in a Heyman Classic matchup, a dream encounter that ever FBE fan had dreamt of seeing. Inferno stood tall and a rematch had been in the minds of the masses ever since. Firestorm LVII saw that opportunity to reignite the fire these two sparked when they first fought, and they replicated their amazing classic here, putting on an even better bout for the crowd in attendance and fans watching at home. However, even after pulling out his decorated Time Dilator maneuver, Receiver fell to a Kami No Hono, Inferno once again beating his foe.Inferno (10) def. Receiver of Deception (6)Desmond Caid vs Jaeger KarpovAnd in our Main Event, two title-bearing titans went to war, the World Champion Desmond Caid battling the Jr Champ Jaeger Karpov. Jaeger was coming off a brutal loss to Conor Cassidy last week in their Television Title match, and a win here would go along way for the man, whereas Desmond hadn't wrestled since Highly Suspect where he beat Karpov's faction leader, Inferno, and Caid stated his intention to prove himself a worthy champion. These two had a fun lengthy bout, but in the end, a Doomsday Apex was what finished off this fantastic Firestorm.Desmond Caid (11) def. Jaeger Karpov (4)What a show! Thank you to everyone who competed and to everyone who voted as well. Next week is the final episode of Firestorm before Final Stand, and we've got some great matchups are on tap! An Intercontinental Triple Threat, a Television Title bout, and much more! Stay tuned, healthy, safe, and of course, ELITE! via /r/FantasyBookingElite https://ift.tt/3ksZXtH
