SEARCH BARI found that adding a search bar to my website has been incredibly useful in discovering new keywords & topics. Currently right now my search bar encourages users to "ask a question". On my end I get to see what users are trying to find answers to and I copy and paste that into my notepad to create an article later or update an existing article. I love the fact that the grayed out text in the search bar have users attention so sometimes I'll switch the grayed out text to something like "Try searching: Best ____in 2020" and the visitors will actually type that in the search bar and that specific page will show up. This is great for driving users to a specific page on the website.HOME PAGE ADSFor many of us, people are not typing in a keyword in Google and our home page show up high in the search result. Usually a specific article/post we've written will rank high for that keyword. For that reason I've tested removing all Adsense ads from my home page completely and added one affiliate marketing link. My loading speed and metrics on Pagespeed Insights improved significantly its almost green all across the board (in the 80-90 ranking) which as you know is a major SEO factor.KEEP TESTING ADSIm not completely sold on the idea of using premium brokers to get high paying ads on your website. I would suggest conducting your own study on where ads work best on your website, so you don't have to pay someone else a piece of your earnings and its just a good idea to know your website inside and out. After testing a different ad type on my articles and removing my home page ads completely, my page RPM went from a $60 average to $175 per thousand impression. I would recommend testing ads for yourself and if you feel it's not working out well then choose a premium service like Ezoic, Adthrive etc.KEYWORDS CPCPeople have different experiences with different keyword research tool but Semrush Keyword CPC has been pretty accurate for me. You can also use Google Keyword Planner. I think its important to know what advertisers are paying for ads related to your website niche on average. I hear a lot of talk about Adsense not paying well (and maybe that's true) but I know of websites that have earned $200,000 a year and website from India doing $60,000 - $90,000 per month with just copy and paste Adsense code, no premium service. The problem may be the niche you chose have a low CPC. I could be wrong, I don't know, but I think finding out what advertisers are paying on average gives you a pretty realistic expectations of what you should e earning per click after you break down the percentage Google gives from those ads.LOGO CHANGES FOR HOLIDAYSChanging logos is one of the fun things about owning a website and my users actually like it and it may work out well for others as well. Every major holiday and special events I would decorate my logo. For Halloween I have a spider crawling down my logo and a black cat standing ontop of one of the letters. For Christmas I always put a Santa's hat on my logo etc etc. I usually leave it up there for that month and revert back to the branded logo. I think it sort of show a playful side of a website and also show visitors you're site is up-to-date and in-tuned with the current time. This is not so much of a tip but it may be something you want to try. via /r/Blogging https://ift.tt/3jzVbu3
