My bf and I are thinking we could get married around the end of next year (2021). We also want to buy an investment property together as a married couple before the end of next year; we each already own a home on which we pay mortgages. We want a decent wedding with our immediate and extended families, friends, flowers, decor, good food, music, etc. and ideally the ceremony and reception would go together. But, given our finances, we can't say we would be able to afford a full wedding ceremony + reception and a new house at the same time. The vast majority of our extended family that we'd invite are in Maryland, Virginia, and California, so we don't want them flying over two times for two different events. We want to keep it to one event. We're in NC and a marriage license lasts 60 days.Is there a way we could get officially and legally married on paper and then have a belated ceremony and reception? Or would that be weird? via /r/weddingplanning https://ift.tt/329nRnZ
