FNAFTOBER DAY 27: DISREPAIR - Short story

Jack got out of his car and started walking towards the building when suddenly his phone started ringing, "Hello?" he asked, pulling it out of his pocket and holding it to his ear "Oh hey dad... yeah he's good for it, I've known him since high school, Pete will pull through with this. All I need to do is just look after this fair attraction how much easier could it get? Yeah... okay... I love you too dad." Jack hung up, his father had called, asking him about how reliable this job his friend Pete had set up for him. A bunch of his friends from school had set up a new Halloween attraction at the local fair called "Fazbear's Fright" apparently making fun of those old stories from the pizzeria's that shut down decades ago. Pete was willing to hire Jack for security and he was willingly to pay a good bit for Jack to just sit in an empty building for 6 hours. Opening the doors Jack bumped into Pete "Oh hey Pete. Cool place you guy have set up." Jack complimented, the place was impressively decorated with old posters and even arcade machines from the franchise lining the dark green, dingy walls adding to the atmosphere of a location fallen into disrepair "Cheers Jack. Listen bud I'm real happy you took me up on that offer, you know I'm good for the pay I'm offering you right? I've gone legit since high school man, I've got this place and I'm starting up an automotive repair shop down the way." Pete explained, back in high school Pete was always trying to come up with ways for those get rich quick schemes you always see in movies most of the time though it just ends with them all getting in trouble. So when Jack heard Pete had gone legit he didn't believe it, but seeing is believing and Jack was seeing a lot. Pete waved Jack over and the two walked through the building, coming up on a rectangular office with a large window in front of the desk and a ventilation shaft next to it. "Alright this is your station. Now there's been a few break-in's recently, I'd bet it's just some punks but just keep an eye on the cameras in case they come here. There's a taser under the desk and a fire axe through that doorway if things get really bad." Pete pointed to a locked red cabinet with a large fire axe inside. Jack just nodded, taking in the admittedly cool scenery. It really did remind him of that old location he went into on a dare and met that old rabbit animatronic, it filled Jack with a strange sense of nostalgia seeing such familiar decorations. "Oh and here's your uniform, designed to look like the uniforms the security guards at the old locations wore, tailor-made my friend." Pete handed Jack a light purple security outfit with a golden badge though it was probably just brass plating, it came with a bulky utility belt and high-grade flashlight. "Damn this is cool!" Jack mused, putting the outfit over his black t-shirt "Surprisingly comfy..." Pete smiled "I'm glad ya like it Jack! Oh damn would you look at the time, it's almost midnight! Right well just get comfy, if you get bored we found a few old training tapes that you could listen to in your spare time otherwise have fun. Oh but don't you DARE damage anything. We just found this old animatronic and I don't want you damaging it by accident." Pete explained, Jack nodded. Amazing how they managed to find an actual animatronic for this place. All the animatronics Jack found were either barely functioning or just hollow husks lacking any notable circuitry. Jack moved into the office and sat down on the black office chair and turned the CCTV cameras on, the quality was terrible but maybe that was for immersion? Or Pete blew all the budget on the outfit... probably the latter knowing Pete. Jack flicked through the cameras as he heard Pete leaving in his car and sure enough it was 12AM on midnight. He flicked through the cameras, not sure what to do when he saw what must've been the animatronic Pete had found, it was slumped against the wall, it was covered in some rotted old fabric that was probably once a fancy yellow color but had decayed to a sickly green, just looking at it Jack could tell that thing must smell like rotten shit or worse. A few hours later of listening to old training tapes talking about something called "springlock suits" and playing naught and crosses with the tiles on the wall, Jack heard the bell toll as the clock changed to 6AM. "What a boring job... almost makes me wish something would happen..." Jack mumbled to himself, hanging up the uniform and leaving the location "Although I do like the disrepair aesthetic Pete went for. He always did have good taste in decoration." Jack mused again before turning the ignition of his car and driving back home.Yeah I know not much happened and you probably want some Springtrap action but I have some serious plans for Jack and Springtrap and I promise it's going to be cool. via /r/fivenightsatfreddys https://ift.tt/2G3so3h
