Booking British Strong Style's Main Roster Debut (Part Three: Serpent)


Ever since British Strong Style’s arrival to the RAW brand, they have had one obstacle standing in their way, that being the Hurt Business. Tonight, the trio including Pete Dunne, Tyler Bate and Trent Seven will show down with MVP, Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin in a TLC Match, and carnage is guaranteed.The Hurt Business vs British Strong Style in a TLC MatchIn the early proceedings, British Strong Style take the upper hand, the Hurt Business retreating to the outside of the ring as British Strong Style rally the fans, posing, as the Hurt Business change up their strategy. A motivated British Strong Style don’t give their opponents any time to breathe, but they get a little too aggressive, when Tyler Bate goes for a suicide dive, he is clubbed with a steel chair, as the action goes to the outside.Pete Dunne lunges off steel chairs, but he is caught by Lashley, belly to belly onto the concrete floor initiates a turn of momentum, a brawl outside concludes with Shelton Benjamin running up a ladder, TOPE CON HILO OFF THE TOP OF THE TILTED LADDER! VINTAGE SHELTON! Back inside the ring, we see the contrast between the styles of both teams – British Strong Style want to win based off their willpower, their fists, while the Hurt Business take advantage of the TLC stipulation, Lashley spears Bate through a corner table.With British Strong Style on the backfoot, they begin to utilise the weapons available, Dunne throws a chair at MVP, following it up with a kick to the face. In addition, in an amazing feat of strength, Seven connects a suplex to Lashley into a bridged ladder, taking them both out of the fray. British Strong Style begin to utilise tandem offence to their advantage, as a plethora of extreme and high spots ensue in this clash of factions, most notably, Trent Seven holding a ladder and spinning, wiping all of the Hurt Business out, Bobby Lashley lifting Benjamin up on a ladder, as he leaps from the top, and in a classic spot, Tyler Bate hitting a Corkscrew Moonsault off the top of a ladder, which leads to the finishing sequence.With Lashley out of the match after being put through a table by Moustache Mountain, and Shelton Benjamin out due to the Corkscrew Moonsault, Pete Dunne gets MVP up, he calls for a finish to the match, Pete Dunne connects a BETTER END PILEDRIVER ON MVP ONTO A STEEL CHAIR! Blood begins to stream from the sight of the spot, as Dunne, Bate and Seven all pile on top of MVP for the three count, and British Strong Style have won this bout.British Strong Style def. The Hurt Business (23 minutes)An amazing way to introduce British Strong Style to the RAW locker room, they defeat one of the most powerful entities on the red brand tonight in the form of the Hurt Business. Whie MVP receives medical attention, Dunne and Bate vigorously celebrate, with Seven content with the result in the corner of the ring. British Strong Style come out on top at TLC.​Booking British Strong Style’s Main Roster Debut (Part Two: Serpent)​RAW – 4th January 2021British Strong Style open the show, they come down to the ring, and comment on their TLC war with the Hurt Business at the final show of the year, TLC. They claim that now that they’ve dealt with them, they can and will be regarded as the most unified, the most decorated, the best unit in all of not just the RAW Locker Room, but the WWE Locker Room. They are, however, interrupted by the RAW Tag Team Champions, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, who cheekily strut down to the ring, they chuckle at the comments of British Strong Style, “Cmon guys, really? For three men with so much… Potential, with so much about them, you would’ve thought that they’d come up with something less generic than ‘We’re the best!’ You guys may not have been around in the RAW Locker Room for all that long, but you have been in this industry for years, and surely you know by now, that the ones who are the best, are the ones with the championships.”The two teams have back and forth, ending in Bate challenging the duo, with Owens and Zayn claiming that they’re going to have to earn the shot first, ending the promo on a cliffhanger.​RAW – 10th January 2021Trent Seven and Tyler Bate go through a tag team gauntlet, with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn watching ringside. They go through Benjamin and Lashley, Cedric Alexander and Ricochet, Andrade and Garza and finally the War Raiders, as they look to make an impression on Owens and Zayn. It is confirmed that next week, they will get their title shot.However, there is backstage tension in the group, as Bate and Dunne decide that they’re going to be the ones representing British Strong Style next week, leaving Seven out of the group, as they believe that Dunne could be more beneficial for the team. Seven reluctantly agrees, albeit left frustrated, as he worked tirelessly to get the shot for the team in the gauntlet.​RAW – 17th January 2021 – Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate vs Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn © for the RAW Tag Team ChampionshipDunne and Bate get off to a hot start as they look to win championship gold, but the dirty tactics of Owens and Zayn allows them to fight back into it, as a great tag team match breaks out, with Pete Dunne getting the spotlight. It is evident that the duo of Dunne and Bate do not have as much synergy as Bate and Seven, however, and as a result, they cannot put the match away. The bout instead ends with a Disqualification, as Pete Dunne is on the brink of victory, he is assaulted by the United States Champion, Seth Rollins.Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate def. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn © via Disqualification (15 minutes)Rollins assaults Dunne, Bate tries to make the save to no avail, Trent Seven sprints down to the ring, he goes for a Seven Star Lariat, but Rollins ducks as he connects with Bate instead, the beatdown continues as Owens and Zayn walk away relived. Why has Rollins attacked Dunne?​RAW – 24th January 2021On the go home show before the Royal Rumble, it is announced that the OwensZayn/BSS conflict will end at the Royal Rumble when Trent Seven and Tyler Bate will team up to face them for the RAW Tag Team Championship. Later in the show, the United States Champion Seth Rollins explains his actions on Dunne, justifying it on the basis that ‘Dunne is playing God, and I need to tell him, that as long as Seth Rollins is in the Locker Room, Seth Rollins is the Leader of the Locker Room’. Pete Dunne vs Seth Rollins for the United States Championship is officially set in stone for Royal Rumble as well.​Royal Rumble – 31st January 2021As the Road to WrestleMania gets underway, it’s do or die for the Locker Room. It’s one of the most significant shows on the wrestling calendar, it’s the Royal Rumble. While the eyes are on the 2 annual Royal Rumble matches, there are also numerous bouts on the card that is catching the attention of the WWE Universe, most notably, the United States Championship match between Seth Rollins and Pete Dunne and the RAW Tag Team Championship match between Moustache Mountain and Owens and Zayn.The latter bout opens the show, with Moustache Mountain making their charismatic entrance followed by the champions, Owens and Zayn. The bell rings and the first match of the 2021 Royal Rumble event is underway!Moustache Mountain vs Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn © for the RAW Tag Team ChampionshipsThe bout has two major duels – Zayn vs Bate, and Seven vs Owens. There is a large emphasis placed on Trent Seven, who could be the difference maker in the match after he wasn’t featured in the bout many weeks ago, ending in a deadlock. Owens and Zayn use smart strategy and synergy to play a psychological game with Seven and Bate, who feed into the style of the current champions.It’s a thriller of an opener, with the momentum turning back and forth, with numerous near falls as they keep the fans on the edge of their seat, it ends with Owens and Zayn hitting Seven with a Helluva Kick followed by a Pop Up Powerbomb, Zayn holds Bate down as the ref counts the 3, Owens and Zayn retaining.Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn © def. Moustache Mountain (20 minutes)Owens and Zayn slide out of the ring immediately as they are handed the belts, relieved with the result tonight, their reign was in jeapordy numerous times. Bate sits with his head in his hands, staring at a motionless Seven. Another big match loss for Bate, who helps Seven to his feet. They share a moment in the ring with each other, Bate is given a perfect opportunity to turn on his partner, but he doesn’t, as he helps him up the ramp.​They reach the top of the stage, they wave to the crowd, Bate begins to leave but Seven pulls him back. Bate stares Seven in the eyes, who is almost regretful. Bate shakes his head, Seven lets go of the grip and nods, he HEADBUTTS BATE! Seven slowly stares at the crowd before he grabs Tyler Bate and rams him into the barricade! Oh my god! “I PUT MY BODY ON THE LINE FOR YOU!” Seven begins to lay forearm after forearm into Bate, who is heavily bloodied, as Pete Dunne is forced to come out and push Seven away, who grasps his hair, fully embracing his new, dark side.Dunne gets frustrated, he goes over to Seven and pushes him while Bate gets medical attention, a brawl breaks out between Dunne and Seven, with it being broken up by security, Seven is escorted away, he acknowledges a dash of Bate’s blood on his hands as he waves to Dunne, who aids an unconscious Bate.With a paradigm shift happening within British Strong Style, Pete Dunne now has to face Seth Rollins, the United States Champion. One of Rollins’ aim was to split the group up, to make Dunne vulnerable, and Seven may have just done it for him. In his entrance, Dunne is visibly conflicted, he has a huge burden hanging over him right now, and it might affect his performance. Rollins makes his entrance, the bell rings and we are underway.​Pete Dunne vs Seth Rollins © for the United States ChampionshipTo start the match, Rollins DOMINATES. Dunne, still fazed by the betrayal earlier in the night, isn’t able to start up any momentum, as Rollins chuckles at Dunne’s poor performance. When Rollins even plants Dunne with a Falcon Arrow, he intentionally breaks up the pin to continue humiliating the Number One Contender in an ideal situation for Rollins. However, Rollins approaches Dunne, who goes for a quick roll up pin, 1…2… Rollins kicks out, both men are on their feet, Dunne goes for a BITTER END QUICKLY, BUT ROLLINS FIGHTS OUT OF IT, HE RETREATS AND NOW, DUNNE IS FEELING IT!Rollins aimlessly goes for Dunne, who finds his head and stays in the game as he outsmarts Rollins, he gets the crowd onto their feet in an inspirational comeback, concluding in Dunne connecting a hurricanrana on the top rope, Dunne comes so close to victory but Rollins is just able to kick out. The two trade momentum in a superb title match, the best singles match of the night, and ultimately, Pete Dunne wins championship gold in the face of adversity, he puts Rollins away with a Bitter End for the 123, and he is crowned the NEW champion!Pete Dunne def. Seth Rollins © (16 minutes)A bittersweet moment for Dunne, his celebrations turn sombre knowing that the burden of the betrayal looms over this title win, but he doesn’t let it get in the way of his celebrations, Dunne is the new United States Champion. After the match, Rollins shakes hands with Dunne, a symbol of respect, as Pete Dunne has championship gold coming away from Royal Rumble.​SmackDown - 5th February 2021People want answers after Trent Seven’s malicious betrayal of Tyler Bate at the Royal Rumble, where Seven turned on his faction mate after not being able to capture the RAW Tag Team Champions. Seven indeed does come out to address the crowd, he claims that he was always the bond holding the group together, but he was never given the spotlight, it was the Pete Dunne show, and Tyler Bate is nothing more than a yes-man clinging onto the success of the Bruiserweight.Trent Seven warns Tyler Bate to not come back to SmackDown, unless he wants his life to be put into even more misery. Pete Dunne, in an interview, implies that Trent Seven is nothing more than an enemy to Dunne now, and that if there was any good left in Seven, it’s all gone. Pete Dunne now calls himself a Lone Wolf.​SmackDown – 12th February 2021Trent Seven challenges Pete Dunne to a match for the United States Championship, Dunne questioning why he would agree to it after what he did. Seven outstretches his arms “You want revenge on behalf of your buddy Tyler? It’s right here.” Dunne is visibly torn, but he eventually outbursts, attacking Seven, who retreats to the outside of the ring, smirking at Dunne.​SmackDown – 19th February 2021No word of a return from Tyler Bate yet, as Pete Dunne confirms that the emotions have got to him, and he will fight Trent Seven next week at Elimination Chamber. Dunne promises to the fans, he promises to Bate in a sombre promo that he will bring Seven to justice, and he will humiliate him, teach him a lesson, and Dunne will not hold back.​SmackDown – 26th February 2021Seven and Dunne engage in a brawl, as the stakes are raised, the match at Elimination Chamber will be a No Disqualification Match, befitting of just how personal this feud has been. Seven says that he’s got into Dunne’s head, and that will be the difference. Dunne favours the No DQ stipulation, he wants to do nothing more than to punish Trent Seven. The stage is set for a personal match this Sunday.​Elimination Chamber – 28th February 2021The Elimination Chamber is a PPV always synonymous with violence and grit, and while those themes remain present, they’re in regards to a different match this year, that being the No Disqualification clash between Trent Seven and Pete Dunne. This feud reached boiling point, and now, it’s time for a pay-off. Seven comes out first to a wave of boos, Seven stands in the middle of the ring with his arms outstretched, urging Dunne down.The camera cuts to backstage, where Pete Dunne walks towards guerrilla. He is stopped by a figure in crutches, who turns Dunne around… It’s Tyler Bate! Bate hands one of his crutches over to Dunne “Tell him this is a personal gift.” Dunne takes it and makes his entrance, he dashes straight to the ring, he doesn’t make eye contact with Seven, as he goes up onto the top rope, where he is then ambushed by Seven, the bell rings and this No Disqualification Match is underway!​Trent Seven vs Pete Dunne © in a No Disqualification Match for the United States ChampionshipThe match follows a violent theme right from the get go, as Seven dishes out a cheap ambush on Dunne, he takes the action to the outside, where he rams Dunne into the ring steps, he follows it up with a DDT onto the ring apron, knocking Dunne near unconscious. Seven exclaims to Dunne ‘You shouldn’t have got involved!’ he goes for a Seven Star Lariat, but DUNNE TURNS IT INTO AN ARMBAR, THAT MONOLOGUE FROM SEVEN GAVE DUNNE A BURST OF LIFE EARLY!Dunne lays Seven out with an Ushi Gerushi, he then walks over to the corner of the ring, where he picks up Bate’s crutch. He shrugs before clubbing Seven in the skull with a crutch, he lays into Seven numerously, near whipping him with the crutch, as there is physical evidence of the beatdown in the form of many cuts on his back. In Dunne’s venture for revenge, he loses his head, he takes Seven to the top rope, but Seven sunset flips over, he connects a POWERBOMB ONTO STEEL CHAIRS INSIDE THE RING!Throughout the match, we see numerous extreme and personal spots, such as Seven hitting a Burning Hammer through the announce table, Dunne stomping on the head of Seven prepped with a steel chair, and Dunne going for the Better End Piledriver variant on a steel chair, Seven fights out of it, however, and he delivers a sudden Seven Star Lariat, Dunne falls to his knees, where Seven begins to inflict a brutal beatdown.The beatdown is so ugly, it calls for the still injured Tyler Bate to limp down to the ring, he begs Seven to stop, Seven’s distracted, Dunne walks up to him, BITTER END! HE GOES FOR THE COVER, 1…2.. SEVEN KICKS OUT! Perplexed, Dunne doesn’t know what to do! Taking advantage of the Extreme Rules stipulation, Bate slides into the ring with a kendo stick, he goes to get his own revenge on Seven, but SEVEN DUCKS AND BATE CONNECTS WITH DUNNE! BATE IS THROWN OVER THE TOP ROPE, SEVEN GETS BATE UP, BURNING HAMMER ONTO THE EXPOSED RING CANVAS! 1…2…3!Trent Seven def. Pete Dunne © (27 minutes)Trent Seven has won the United States Championship! In shock himself, Seven grasps the championship and celebrates with it, as Bate sits outside, shocked, guilty, he caused Dunne to lose this match in his efforts to get Dunne to win it. Bate tried to get his own revenge, he was too desperate for it, but in the process he cost Pete Dunne the United States Championship.Trent Seven celebrates on the stage ‘I finally have the spotlight!’ he yells to the camera before leaving, as the camera goes back to Dunne, who is beginning to get to his feet, Bate standing on the other side of the ring, not knowing what to do. He goes to help Dunne up, but Dunne pushes him away, Dunne goes to exit the ring but Bate extends his hand, Dunne FOREARMS BATE, SENDING HIM INTO THE CORNER! Bate sits in the corner, regretful, in pain, in shock, as Pete Dunne walks out with his head facing down.​SmackDown – 5th March 2021“I finally got the spotlight, and I deserve it, I deserve it so much!” Trent Seven hosts a British themed championship coronation, ironically with the United States Championship. He brags about his win on Sunday against Pete Dunne, and he is interrupted by Tyler Bate, who stands on the stage to refrain from getting in close proximity with Seven, because he might very well kill him. Bate owns up to his mistakes to the fans, but he’s not done with Seven just yet, he still wants revenge.Bate asks for a title shot, Seven declines, claiming that Dunne probably wants a shot as well, and it can only be one at a time. He urges Bate to ask Dunne for a One-On-One match, with the winner facing Trent Seven for the United States Championship. Bate reluctantly leaves.​SmackDown – 12th March 2021Trent Seven has his first defence of the United States Championship against Buddy Murphy, Seven comes out on top in clean fashion, after the match, he is ambushed by a hooded figure, who reveals himself to be Pete Dunne. After decking Seven with a forearm, he turns around, and falls into a stiff right from Tyler Bate! Seven props up against the ropes, urging Bate to inflict further damage on Dunne, but Bate walks over to the United States Championship, he picks it up and glances to it, before glancing at Dunne and Seven, and pointing to the WrestleMania sign. He drops the championship and leaves.​SmackDown – 19th March 2021Trent Seven claims that he does not want to defend the United States Championship in a Triple Threat, as it would be a ‘mockery to the lineage of the championship’. Later in the night, Pete Dunne wins his first match back after Elimination Chamber, he defeats Humberto Carillo, Dunne looks intimidating in victory as he let his work in the ring do the speaking. After the match, Tyler Bate proposes that ‘if you want to get your United States Championship back… Which kind of person would I be to stop you’ Dunne doesn’t react to the grateful comments of Dunne.Seven, in an interview, is clearly annoyed with Bate handing over the Number One Contendership to Dunne, as Seven wanted to drive a wedge between them even more. He claims that he will defeat Dunne just like last time, as he makes desperate attempts to try and give confidence in himself.​SmackDown – 26th March 2021As WrestleMania looms closer, a contract signing ensues. Before signing the contract, Dunne gives Seven an option of Double or Nothing. The initial contract that has been proposed by Dunne, the one that is on the table, features a clause that the loser of the match must leave the brand. However, Dunne says that if Seven does not want to go all in, he doesn’t have to, and instead gives him a second offer, where the Loser Leaves Brand stipulation is off.Believing it’s a simple answer, Seven begins to read through the second contract, as Dunne then makes a personal insult to Seven, who begins to argue with Dunne as the tension rises. In the heat of the moment, Seven signs the contract having not read through every clause, as he hands it over to Dunne, who signs it without hesitation, before going to the final page of the contract and showing it to Seven and the camera.ADDITIONAL CLAUSE – TYLER BATE WILL COMPETE AND THE MATCH WILL BECOME A TRIPLE THREAT.Dunne grins, as Seven argues, Dunne shrugs off as he begins to walk out, Bate then slides into the ring and attacks Seven from behind, but wanting to be the alpha going into the match, Dunne slides back into the ring and delivers a Bitter End to Bate through the table, as he stands over both of them.​SmackDown – 2nd April 2021On the go home show before WrestleMania, a promo package is displayed outlining the feud. It shows footage of their first days as a team, their first appearances in NXT, their main roster debut, their highs and lows, the betrayals and now. Each man is in this match looking for something different.Trent Seven is looking for solidification. He wants to be known as the superior member of British Strong Style, and he knows he can’t run anymore, so he’s going to face the threats head on. He doesn’t fear Dunne and Bate, he knows them inside out.Tyler Bate is looking for revenge. After being put out of action for months by Trent Seven, and being mistreated by Pete Dunne after the betrayal, he believes that Dunne and Seven have turned into monsters, people that Bate cannot bear to see, so he feels he has an obligation to put them away, and to finally have his moment.Pete Dunne is looking for justice. An end to the conflict. He believes he is the rightful United States Champion, he put his title on the line for his stablemate and he gets repaid by a kendo stick strike. The Bruiserweight has had enough of the revenge cycles. He wants his championship, he wants Seven humbled, and he wants Bate to learn a lesson.The stage is set for not only a monumental title match, but a grudge match at WrestleMania. British Strong Style implodes, in what guarantees to be a potential MOTN for the United States Championship. Who will come out on top in Hollywood?​WrestleMania 37 – 4th April 2021The United States Championship triple threat match is the fourth match on the card. When the match card graphic appears on the screen, the fans pop, this might just be the most anticipated bout on this already stacked lineup of matches. The promo package shows again, and when the camera goes back to SoFi Stadium, there is a tense atmosphere.Tyler Bate makes his entrance first, and the reception could not be more down the middle. Bate gave Dunne the title shot voluntarily, he tried to help Dunne beat Seven, he’s been in the right place, just at the wrong time. He’s witnessed his stablemates turn crazy first-hand, his entrance is charismatic as always, he’s not going to let the emotional stakes get in the way of his WrestleMania moment.Pete Dunne is out next. There are no theatrics about his entrance, his music hits, he marches down to the ring with a heavy stride. He’s got business to complete tonight, to win back the United States Champonship which is rightfully his. He does not even make eye contact with Bate, who stares at Dunne, the fan favourite.Finally, the United States Champion, Trent Seven comes out, and he is received by a sea of boos in Los Angeles, there is not a single soul in the room in approval of this man. He betrayed Tyler Bate, he drove a wedge between Bate and Dunne, he’s become arrogant after winning the US Title illegitimately. Bate and Seven stare down once he enters the ring, while Dunne stands in the corner, composed.After the ring introductions, the bell rings and this US Title triple threat is underway!​Tyler Bate vs Pete Dunne vs Trent Seven © for the United States ChampionshipBoth men walk to the middle of the ring, Dunne gives Bate a clubbing forearm, sending him to the outside of the ring, returning the favour after the cheap hook many weeks ago. Dunne shrugs to Seven, as they enter a tie up, Dunne gets the upper hand early, he is clearly on his game tonight. Seven irish whips Dunne, Bate trips Dunne on the rope rebound, Bate slides into the ring, hurricanrana to Seven followed by an armdrag, Bate applies a rest hold, but Dunne is having none of it, he stomps on Bate, he goes for a Bitter End early, Bate fights out of it, he pushes Dunne into Seven who sends Dunne to the outside of the ring.Bate and Seven then enter a tie up themselves, Bate dives in head first, wanting to get his long awaited revenge on Seven, and he does so, beating into him, a personal beatdown, but Seven regains the advantage when he hits Bate with the championship belt. Seven dominates for a few minutes, before Dunne gets back into the match, him and Bate enter a temporary alliance for a few minutes to take down Seven, before Bate goes for a sneaky roll up on Dunne, who kicks out, they then enter a striking exchange.Dunne gets the advantage when he snaps a finger of Bate, following it up with a snap dragon. Dunne rebounds off the ropes, BUT HE RUNS STRAIGHT INTO A SEVEN STAR LARIAT! Bate connects a Tilt-a-Whirl DDT on Seven, and he goes for the top rope, he’s going for the Corkscrew Moonsault! Bate takes too much time on the top, however, Dunne lunges up to the top rope, he goes for a hurricanrana, but he’s not able to complete it, Bate goes for a superplex, but Seven comes in, TOWER OF DOOM SPOT!Seven gets Bate up, he goes for the Seven Star Lariat, he spins Bate round, but Bate delivers a big boot just in time! With both of their guard down, Seven then connects the lariat, BUT BATE BITES THE DAMAGE, SEVEN DOESN’T BELIEVE IT! Seven repeatedly strikes Bate, BUT HE KEEPS ON STAYING UP, HE’S USING THE WILL OF THE WRESTLEMANIA FANS TO HIS ADVANTAGE! Seven gives up, he goe for a Burning Hammer, but Bate holds onto the ropes, he goes to top rope, Dunne goes to attack Seven, who telegraphs it, Seven gets Dunne in the Burning Hammer position, BATE HITS DUNNE WITH THE LEAPING KNEE/BURNING HAMMER COMBO!Seven goes for the cover, Bate breaks it up! Bate throws Seven out of the ring, he gets Dunne up, he connects the TYLER DRIVER! 1…2… SEVEN DRAGS BATE OUTSIDE OF THE RING! Bate chases Seven around the ring, Seven slides back in, Bate runs straight into a BITTER END FROM DUNNE! Seven goes for a Seven Star Lariat on Dunne, Dunne ducks under it, he goes for a Bitter End, but IT LEAVES HIS GUARD DOWN, TYLER BATE DELIVERS A KNEE TO DUNNE, SENDING HIM TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE RING, BATE GETS SEVEN UP, TYLER.
