Where we live daycare is quite expensive and for our jobs it is a necessity. Even at 6 months, we want our son to be in a safe, social environment with cameras and a curriculum that can be followed and structure that he wouldn’t get at home. It’s costly—1200 to 1400 a month for any of the six daycares close to our house. We can afford it, but we are having to give up so many little things I selfishly wanted. No hosting thanksgiving for our family, no Christmas tree and no decorating the house for our son’s first Christmas. No traveling for a winter getaway and no Christmas presents to exchange. I’m giving up all of my small personal joys: getting my nails done and hair dyed, buying breakfast for students at the end of the year...nothing big but I’m a little sad.We work so, so hard to provide a great life for ourselves and our kiddo, but daycare is like a second mortgage and requires a lot of sacrifice. How is this possible with two or three kids?! via /r/beyondthebump https://ift.tt/2Tqo4hK
